The Garden Idea - how it all started
Are you addicted to gardening? Just like me in that case…and it all started when we bought a house with a very empty garden in 2006.
My name is Lena Knaus, born and grown-up in Stockholm Sweden, however living in Switzerland since 1991. Married, mother of 2 teenage-girls and a proud owner of a small very white garden. I had little knowledge of gardening at that time, and gained my first knowledge by reading garden books and magazines, visited workshops and spent hours (and a fortune) in garden centers. I planted, failed and learned.
Since then, I have taken my passion further, studied the RHS Level 2 and taken the ‘Certificate of the Principle of Horticulture’ (June 2021). I have a professional back-ground in tourism and airline business and I’m working full-time as Global Key Account Manager in the Airline Industry.

RHS Certified Level 2
Certificate in the Principle of Horticulture
Since June 2021, I am RHS Qualified Level 2 and proud holder of the ‘Certificate in the Principle of Horticulture’.
It contains the studies and certification of:
‘Principle of Plant Growth, Propagation and Development’ &
‘Principle of Garden Planning, Establishment and Maintenance’. Each of the Certificates contains 4 units and results in 8 exams (and separate certifications)
RHS is the world famous Royal Horticulture Society, UK’s leading gardening society. RHS are committed to inspire everyone to grow and are also responsible for the certification of horticulturists in UK.
On top, I have been gardening for the last 16 years, the practical part is already my daily hobby.
